October 24, 2003BUSH POLICIES TO BLAME"A strong dose of space weather is forecast to hit Earth Friday afternoon, potentially disrupting satellite communications and posing a threat to power grids on Earth..." Paul Krugman, writing for the NYTimes, condemned Bush: "His support for Jewish space science has enabled the Sharon government to create these disruptions that will surely fuel Muslim resentment of the West." |
In other news, Ted Kennedy called Bush's policy on solar flares "lost in space."
He stated "There is no imminent threat (of a solar storm). This was made up in Texas, announced yesterday to the Republican leadership that a storm was going to take place and was going to be good politically. This whole thing is a fraud," Kennedy said.
Posted by: JohnnyB on October 24, 2003 04:11 PMYeah, but the weird thing is that pappy went and gave Ted this award. You don't suppose he gives credence to Ted's spaced out theories, do you?
Posted by: Frank on October 25, 2003 08:13 AMI'm glad you guys cleared that up, Kennedy voted yes on the partial birth abortion ban and against requiring Iraq to repay reconstruction costs (of course he later changed his votes). So it was the Solar Flares that caused Kennedy to phase out and not the Scotch.
Posted by: logiccop on October 26, 2003 04:36 PMActually Krugman is wrong again. El Nino is Israel's fault.
Posted by: RUTH KING on October 26, 2003 06:11 PMKennedy's votes were rescinded and applied to the "No" vote for those respective bills. The language of the bills, according to Daschle, were "confusing".
Hard to understand that note of confusion when a bill is, for instance, to ban partial-birth abortion, is entitled as such. Maybe he was a little topsy, who knows.
Posted by: addison on October 28, 2003 02:38 PMHe's such a little nebby smart ass punk, Krugman. He needs to be taken down many pegs and Luskin is defintely doing that successfully on an intellectual and ecnomic level as well as in a confrontational way, no matter what you think of Luskin's sometimes use of borderline ad hominem use.
