July 18, 2002ARAFAT'S UNLIKELY ALLY: THE FREUDARAFAT'S UNLIKELY ALLY: THE FREUD MUSEUM, LONDON Sigmund Freud narrowly escaped the clutches of the Gestapo in 1938 and lived out the remaining 2 years of his life at 20 Maresfield Gardens in Hampstead. It is now the site of the Freud Museum. According to its website "The Freud Museum's central function is to celebrate the life and work of Sigmund and Anna Freud. The museum organises active programmes of research and publication. It has an education service which organizes seminars, conferences and special visits to the museum." What would Freud think if he knew that, in additon to these functions, it has become a working propaganda arm of Yasser Arafat's murderous followers, mouthing the same sentiments we have become familiar with from the likes of Hassan Abdel Rahman and the assorted Islamist anti-semites at war against Western democracy? On its website is the familiar slander that turns reality on its head and casts free and democratic Israel as the Nazi-like slaughterer of innocents Israeli child killers An essay on the HolocaustHolocaust grotesquely juxtaposes some banal thoughts about genocide, with a story about Israeli soldiers refusing to fight. It comments, "what better memorial to the Holocaust could there be than the actions of these Israeli soldiers? By refusing to shoot on command they sound the death knell to the casual excuse for moral bankruptcy which has been used to justify barbarity and bureaucracy in equal measure. The seductive lie: 'I WAS ONLY FOLLOWING ORDERS'. " This reversal of reality casts the Israeli army as the Nazis and the Jew hating minions of Yasser Arafat as the innocent Jews Comments
